England and Northampton flanker Lewis Ludlam had high praises for newly appointed coach Steve Borthwick as they face Scotland in the Six Nations opener on 4th February.

Borthwick, who previously was England's forward coach between 2015 and 2020 replaced Eddie Jones as their new head coach in December last year.

While Jones always keep the players on toes with their schedule, Borthwick has used his creativity to manage on and off field work out for players and Ludlam admitted that the clarity is helping the players.

“It’s really enjoyable, we’re just getting to grips with things that have changed,” said Ludlam.

“The set-up has changed quite a bit and the way that the week is set up. It feels like there is a new excitement around the team, and a slight change in focus.

“Steve wants the team to be ready to fight for each other, to work hard and that’s been evident from day one, which is really positive.

“The structure in terms of when you do walk-throughs, when the big sessions are, just a few little things are different in terms of how we train and how we prepare.

“The general set-up of the week has been a little bit different.”

Following the game against Scotland, England will be taking on Italy in the second round and Wales in the third on 12th and 25th February respectively.
