Scorecard

Ireland marked St. Patrick's Day celebration with a convincing 15-24 win over England in the final round of the Six Nations Championship at Twickenham Stadium as they went on to clinch the Grand Slam for the third time.

Things went from bad to worse for Eddie Jones' men as they succumbed to their third consecutive defeat of the tournament as they finish at the fifth position in the table.

Garry Ringrose capitalised on poor discipline from England as he scored the opening try in the fifth minute while Johnny Sexton slotted the conversion. The television match official was checked for a knock-on from Rob Kearney but it went in the favour of the visitors as Ireland raced to a 0-7 lead.

With Ireland dominating the territory, it was a matter of the time the second try came and this time it was number eight CJ Stander, who went past the line in the 23rd minute and the conversion from Sexton made it 0-14.

Their momentum was dented a bit when Peter O'Mahony was sin-binned in the 28th minute for collapsing a maul and finally, England managed to break the shackles with Elliot Daly crossing over in the 31st minute to reduce the arrears to nine points.

Ireland failed to buckle under pressure and instead the game-defining moment when Jacob Stockdale went past the line in the final minute of the first half and this time Joey Carberry slotted the extras to make it 5-21 at half time.

The lead soon became 19 points for Ireland with a penalty kick from Conor Murray that came in the 59th minute and despite Daly's second in the 64th minute followed by Jonny May's last-gasp touchdown, England succumbed to a nine-point defeat.
