Ireland backrow Caelan Doris said he is enjoying his first ever World Cup pre-season as Andy Farrell's men step up their preparations for the showpiece event in France.

Doris made his Ireland debut in 2020 and has become an integral part of the side since then.

“It’s been great, training hard, recovering well and eating lots," he told Irish Rugby TV.

"There’s been a lot of long days but we’re all enjoying it.

"We’re a very tight knit group and I love taking to the pitch with them and hanging out with them off the pitch.”

Ireland are positioned in Pool B of the Rugby World Cup alongside South Africa, Scotland, Tonga and Romania. They will kick-off their campaign with a clash against Romania in Bordeaux on 9th September.
