New Zealand international Nehe Milner-Skudder is targetting a return in June for his Super Rugby club Hurricanes after spending over 19 months on the sidelines.

The 26-year-old last featured for All Blacks during the 2015 World Cup final against Wallabies and has already scored eight tries from as many games.

Following a dislocated shoulder, Milner-Skudder also suffered a cracked metatarsal in May last year but is now making a steady progress in his rehabilitation period with an aim of returning for Round 16 clash of Super Rugby when Hurricanes host Chiefs.

"I'm making progress. It obviously took a little bit longer than we expected. The first couple of weeks went so well just coming off the crutches but the three to six week mark it took a while to knit back together," Milner-Skudder told stuff.co.nz.

"It's a bit of relief and a lot of satisfaction changing it up from being on the rower and the grinder. It's heading in the right direction, getting back on my feet and getting the legs ticking over."

Should he make a successful comeback, Milner-Skudder will be in contention for the first Test between New Zealand and British and Irish Lions that kicks-off on 24th June at Eden Park.
