Force 12-34 Hurricanes, NIB Stadium
Scorecard

Three brilliant tries in the concluding twelve minutes helped Hurricanes defeat Western Force by 34-12 in Perth on Saturday to keep them in contention for the top spot of the New Zealand conference.

The hosts failed to even open their account by the half-time as the Canes managed to score 12 points following a converted try from Ngani Laumape (2) and an unconverted try of Loni Uhila (37).

Dane Haylett-Petty scored a try on the 44th minute followed by Peter Grant's conversion as Force reached just five short of the visitors' tally.

However, a series of four brilliant tries from Leni Apisai (55), Vince Aso (68), TJ Perenara(69) and Laumape(72) put the visitors comfortably ahead of Force.

Canes' fly-half Beauden Barrett was only able to convert Laumape's try on the 73rd minute while failing to score on the remaining opportunities.

A late 81st minute try from Richard Hardwick was too little and too late for the hosts as the Canes cruised comfortably home by a margin of 22 points.
