Highlanders ran an eight-try riot as they went on to thrash Force by 6-55 in their Super Rugby encounter at NIB Stadium on Saturday.

Tevita Li (18') and Aki Seiuli (35') were the try scorers for Highlanders in the first half while fly-half Marty Banks added the extras on both the occasions and kicked a penalty as well to take the score to 17 points at half time. Force's only response in the game came through a double penalty from scrum half Ian Prior.

Sin-bins to wing Semisi Masirewa and lock Richie Arnold in the 38th and 47th minutes respectively did not help Force's cause either.

Patrick Osborne (43'), Seiuli (50'), Rob Thompson (58' and 80'), Dillon Hunt (63') and Richard Buckman (66') were the try scorers in the second half as they completed a comfortable 49 point victory.

Highlanders are positioned fourth in New Zealand Conference despite securing their ninth win in 12 games while Force are positioned fourth in Australian Conference.
