Zebre 28 - 33 Glasgow Warriors

The Glasgow Warriors held onto their nerves in the final stages of a closely fought contest to edge Zebre 28-33 at the Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi in Parma, Italy during the 2016-17 Pro12 clash on Saturday.

Right-wing Sean Lamont (7, 46) scored a double, while hooker Fraser Brown (39) and replacement left-wing Leonardo Sarto (52) scored a try each.

Fly-half Rory Clegg had a 50-50 hit-and-miss ratio with the conversions while slotting three penalties on the 25th, 27th and 79th minute. Clegg's final penalty got the Warriors out of the woods as the Italian side was crawling its way back into the game.

Hooker Oliviero Fabiani (29), left-wing Giovanbattista Venditti (55) and number-eight Dries van Schalkwyk (74) contributed to Zebre's try tally.

Carlo Canna failed to convert Fabiani's try while managing the remaining two while also slotting three penalties on the 2nd, 18th and 80th minute.

The win has helped Gregor Townsend's Warriors to climb up two places to the fourth position in the points table while Gianluca Guidi's Zebre continues to stay put at the bottom of the barrel after failing to win a single game this season.

The Zebre's will face Edinburgh at the BT Murrayfield Stadium while the Warriors will host Benetton Treviso next weekend.
