Glasgow Warriors flanker Ryan Wilson is hoping that his side can replicate the success they had in the Pro12 in the European Champions Cup.

The Scotstoun based club have been a prominent team in Pro12 and have been the title winners and runners-up in 2015 and 2014 respectively. However, they have never progressed past the group stages in European competitions.

Currently, Glasgow will be taking on Zebre in their Pro12 encounter on Saturday and will be followed by European Champions Cup clashes against Leicester Tigers and Munster on 14th and 22nd October respectively.

Wilson, who joined Glasgow in 2010 lamented their failure to do well in the European competitions and urged the team for a better preparation.

"We start so well in the PRO12 and come into this and it's a step up, and maybe we've not been prepared as we would have liked to have been coming into Europe.

"It's just one of these things, the PRO12 season is long so you can have slip-ups here and there and still manage to get some points back, whereas in the European Cup you've got to win your games and get as many points out of it as you can.

"We want to qualify from the group and that has been a massive goal for us over the past four or five years.

"We haven't achieved that but this year is the year I feel we can definitely go on and do that."
