England scored five tries and came back from behind to win the Old Mutual Wealth Cup after defeating Wales by 27-13 at Twickenham on Sunday.

England handed a debut to Teimana Harrison, who was named in the starting XV in the absence of Saracens and Exeter players.

On the other hand, Wales was led by Dan Lydiate in the absence of Sam Warburton, who is recovering from a shoulder injury while lock Alun Wyn Jones made a comeback to feature in his 99th game for his country.

The last two times both the teams met each other at the venue was during the World Cup 2015 and Six Nations encounters which was won by Wales and England respectively.

England started the game well as winger Anthony Watson with support from Jonathan Joseph exerted early pressure on Wales.

However, it was prop Rob Evans, who scored the opening point of the game for Wales with a try in the fifth minute after assistance from scrum-half Rhys Webb. It was also Evans' first international try. With Dan Biggar's conversion, Wales raced to a 7-0 lead by the sixth minute.

Biggar looked in great touch as he scored another penalty in the 13th minute to take Wales' score to 10.

England had a chance to open their account, but George Ford missed a penalty in the 17th minute. Luther Burrell came to the rescue scoring England's first try in the 19th minute but Ford failed to add the extras once again.

Watson sneaked past the defence of Scott Williams in the 32nd minute and scored the second try for England as the first half ended with Wales taking a marginal lead of 13-10.

Scrum-half Ben Young took England to lead inside three minutes in the second half after claiming the ball from a lineout but once again Ford missed the conversion.

The points continued to pour for England as four minutes later, Jack Clifford teaming up with Dan Cole crossed the line to take England to 20 points and this time Ford made the conversion as they stretched the lead over wales to nine points. However, it wasn’t without a controversy as TMO was referred for a knock-on and it went in favour of the red rose team.

Wales were deprived of possession in the second half and Marland Yarde completed the fifth try for England in the 60th minute after which Wales never recovered.

Wales looked messy in the second half and failed to add any points to their half-time score as England completed a 27-13 victory over their rivals.

England will now head to Australia for a three-Test tour while Wales will travel to New Zealand for a series against the All Blacks.
