The Rugby Football Union has confirmed a disciplinary hearing against London Irish skipper David Paice following his red-card incident in the recently concluded Aviva Premiership encounter against Gloucester at Kingsholm.

Paice was sent-off by referee Luke Pearce just at the stroke of half-time for colliding with the head of Gloucester captain Willi Heinz, who was withdrawn from the field.

The decision proved costly for London Irish as they succumbed to a 39-15 defeat - their ninth this season as they languish at the bottom of the table.

Paice will now appear in front of a three-man disciplinary panel in London on Tuesday.
