Fullback Chris Pennell has extended his association with the Worcester Warriors after signing a new contract with the Premiership side.

Pennell, who joined the Warriors in 2007 has played 106 matches for the club in English Premiership and scored 126 points which includes 11 tries.

In the recent 2015-16 season, Pennell appeared in 22 games and managed to score two tries in it while topping the league stats for metres made.

It was in 2010-11 RFU Championship, Pennell was made the captain of Worcester and the club had a successful campaign after winning 30 out of the 31 games which helped them secure a promotion in the Aviva Premiership.

Pennell’s only appearance for England came in the 2014 encounter against the All Blacks in Auckland.

Director of rugby at Worcester Dean Ryan was delighted to have Pennell on board as he believes the 29-year-old has the potential to help the club achieve their goal.

" Chris has been an outstanding member of the squad, both on and off the field, and we're delighted he has decided to commit his future to the club.

"We are looking to build a side capable of challenging Europe's elite, and Chris certainly possesses the qualities and characteristics which are essential to that.

"He is on board with what we want to achieve here at Sixways, and he is one person who can certainly help us reach our targets.”

With an overall appearance of 165 games, Pennell is ranked eighth in the list of most appearances made by a player for Worcester Warriors.
