Gloucester Rugby have announced that utility forward Ben Donnell will be leaving the Gallagher Premiership club with immediate effect.

Donnell joined Gloucester in 2023 after London Irish entered into administration and has featured for the club 11 times.

He also represented England Under 18 and Under 20 teams in the past.

"I'm hoping I can add to a strong squad, which has so much further potential, with my ability to bring some dominance in collisions with some soft ball-playing skills, while continuing my own development and improvement," said Donnell.

"Ultimately every player wants to win trophies and I believe Cardiff are beginning an exciting journey towards that."

Meanwhile, the club also confirmed that scrum-half Micky Young has left the club following the end of his short-term contract.

"Everyone at the Club thanks Ben and Micky for their efforts in Cherry & White, and wish them all the best for the future," read a statement from Gloucester.
