Bath Rugby have announced the signing of Italian international hooker Hame Faiva with immediate effect.

Faiva started his professional rugby debut with provincial side Waikato and played for Blues in the 2017 season. He also featured for Benetton and represented Worcester Warriors and Hurricanes in the recent times.

He made his Italy debut in 2021 and was part of the recently concluded Rugby World Cup campaign where they played three matches against France, New Zealand and Namibia.

Bath director of rugby Johann van Graan is delighted with Faiva joining the club.

“We’re glad to welcome Hame to our team. His experience in different environments is extremely valuable to our journey here," said van Graan to the club's official website.

"I’m excited to see him play and add to the Blue, Black and White, specifically in the set piece and contact areas.”

Bath are positioned third in the Gallagher Premiership table and will face Bristol Bears next at the Recreation Ground on Friday.
