Argentina tight-head prop Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro has been ruled out of the upcoming Rugby World Cup tournament following an injury.

The 34-year-old ruptured the Achilles tendon in his left leg during a training session at Faro in Portugal and now will miss the showpiece event in France which kicks-off next month.

Tetaz Chaparro, who is one of the five props named in the squad represented Argentina in the 2015 and 2019 Rugby World Cups previously having made his international debut in 2010.

Even though a replacement is yet to be named, Argentina head coach Michael Cheika has called up Mayco Vivas and Lucio Sordoni to the training camp in Portugal.

Argentina are grouped in Pool D along with England, Japan, Samoa and Chile. They will kick-start the tournament with a clash against Steve Borthwick's men on 9th September in Marseille.
