Sale Sharks sign WillGriff John on short-term deal

Sale Sharks have confirmed that Wales prop WillGriff John will be rejoining the Gallagher Premiership on a short-term deal until the end of the ongoing season.

John previously played for Sale Sharks between 2017 and 2021 and went on to play 82 appearances for the club across four seasons.

Following his association with Sale, John represented Scarlets in 19 matches before joining Racing 92 as a medical joker in 2023. He also had represented Cardiff, Northland and Doncaster Knights in the past.

He made his international debut for Wales against South Africa in November 2021 and has two Test caps to his name.

The 31-year-old will provide cover for Nick Schonert, who underwent surgery last week on an achilles injury and will miss the remainder of the campaign.

Sale Sharks are at eighth place in the Gallagher Premiership table with eight wins from 14 matches.
