Rebels 25-32 Waratahs, AAMI Park
Scorecard

Rebels' search for their first win this season continues as a dominant second half performance saw Waratahs seal a 25-32 win in their Super Rugby game at AAMI Park on Friday.

Centre Reece Hodge was at his best for Rebels scoring 20 out of the overall 25 points but had to end on the losing side.

The first 10 minutes saw Hodge and Bernard Foley exchange penalties. Hodge ensured Rebels had the momentum with them at half-time as he strolled past the post twice and added two conversions and a penalty as well. Tom English was the other try-scorer for Rebels in the first half at the end of which they had a lead of 25-6.

With Rebels struggling to add a point in the second half, flanker Ned Hanigan (48') and wing Reece Robinson (58') added two tries for the visitors to bring down the gap to seven points at the end of the third quarter.

However, things changed completely for Rebels in the final 10 minutes when flanker Colby Fainga'a was sin-binned in the 76th minute which was capitalised by replacement Michael Wells and centre David Horwitz ensured a seven point win for Waratahs with their tries.

The second position has taken Waratahs to the second position in the Australian conference while Rebels languish at the bottom.
