Wales 13-6 Georgia, Principality Stadium
Scorecard

Wales were made to work hard by Georgia as they registered an unconvincing 13-6 victory at Principality Stadium on Saturday.

Rhys Priestland got Wales off the mark with a sixth minute penalty and shortly a brilliant tackle from Vasil Lobzhanidze prevented Alex Cuthbert to go over the line as the score remained 3-0.

Nevertheless, the home side did manage to find a breakthrough 10 minutes later when Hallam Amos crossed over with Priestland adding the conversion to take them to a 10-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Just when Amos thought he had his second try, the ball was brought back for a rip in contact that saw the ball go forward and it resulted in a penalty that Soso Matiashvili kicked to ensure Georgia's trail at the end of the first half was brought down to seven points.

As infringements continued, Georgia was awarded another penalty in the 49th minute which Matiashvili successfully slotted in as the gap came down to four points. Wales completely shifted their attacking game which saw Priestland convince his captain to take a 61st minute penalty as they restored the seven point lead.

As the final 10 minutes kicked-off, it looked like Georgia were likely to slot their first try that will level the scores but Wales defence stood tight as they managed to held on to their lead despite a sin-bin to Tomas Francis in the final minute.
