Tarleton Firsts had another tough encounter on Saturday with a home match with championship contenders Eccles RUFC. The weather wasn’t going to allow for expansive rugby with gale force winds and driving rain the order of the day but despite this an enthralling game ensued.

Tarleton travelled up the M61 to meet top of the table Bolton RUFC as the second half of the season gets underway. Last minute cry-offs and long standing injuries still continue to dog the First XV but a squad of 18 arrived to do battle.

Tarleton had a double header at home on Saturday with both teams having ‘must win’ fixtures.

Tarleton Second XV played away against Blackburn on Saturday knowing that they had to win to stay joint top and despite some late changes they arrived with a good squad that were certainly 'up' for this game.

Tarleton Seconds welcomed Garstang RUFC to Carr Lane on Saturday and they came with a sprinkling of their First XV in their squad as they had a free weekend.

Tarleton Firsts faced Fleetwood RUFC at Carr lane on Saturday and after 4 defeats against the league’s high flyers this was there chance to stop the rot and start to climb up the table.

This weekend, Tarleton were beaten 36-6 by Blackburn, who were perhaps flattered by the final score but there was better news for the seconds, who beat Fylde 55-8.

Tarleton Second XV were up against Leigh at home this week and put out a good squad to try and end their unbeaten run.

Tarleton welcomed Hawcoat Park RUFC to Carr lane on Saturday, a team brimming with confidence after four straight maximum point victories under their belts had put them at the top of the table.

Tarleton Second XV travelled away to Bolton RUFC with both teams unbeaten. Despite missing a few key players due to stag nights and weddings, Tarleton still showed up with a good squad.

Tarleton started their 2013- 2014 Season in the North Lancs & Cumbria League with a home match against Whitehaven RUFC.
