Dragons have announced that former England Under 20 international Tom Griffiths has signed a contract extension with the Welsh regional club.

A product of Saracens Academy, Griffiths signed his professional contract in February 2017 and made his senior debut during the 2017/18 season. He also had loan stints with Bedford Blues and London Scottish.

The 24-year-old's association with Dragons started in 2019 and has made six appearances for them before he was sidelined with an injury that he suffered in February.

“I really enjoyed my first season with Dragons and the progress we made as a group so I’m pleased to sign the extension," he said the official website of the club.

“It is frustrating to be ruled out with injury, but my rehabilitation is going well and I’m determined to make a successful return and repay the faith that has been put in me by the coaching team.”

Meanwhile, Dragons director of rugby Dean Ryan wished Griffiths a speedy recovery.

"Tom showed real promise during a campaign that was sadly ended prematurely by injury," he said.

“We are now fully supporting Tom throughout his recovery as he is a player we believe will develop in our environment in the long-term.

“We all wish him well with his rehabilitation and look forward to his return in the future.”
