Tigers Cruise Past Chester - Match Highlights

Sedgley Park backed-up last weekend's impressive win away at Macclesfield with another strong performance, as the Tigers powered past Chester by 43 points to 14.

Sedgley, in fourth place before the game, welcomed the team right on their tail in fifth - local rivals Chester.

Talking Rugby Union's cameras were, as ever, around the grounds and the leagues, recording all of the best rugby action.

The home victory still sees Sedgley in fourth place and Chester in fifth; however, the Tigers have now put clear breathing room between the closest chasers - 12 points. Also, Sedgley are only six points behind third place Stourbridge, eight behind Macclesfield and ten behind leaders Darlington Mowden Park, as things are really close at the top.

The weekend's fixture was eagerly anticipated, as both sides looked to spring an assault on the league leaders in the second half of the season; however, the game was decided in the first 20 minutes, as the Tigers backs dominated play and took the home side into a commanding early lead.

Wingers Jamie Harrison and Andy Riley particularly looked in form as they helped dictate the game Sedgley’s way.

However, as the above highlights illustrate, the second half of the game was a much closer-fought affair, as Chester – lead by their forwards – were much stronger.

Though, after a strong fightback, with both packs now looking evenly matched, it was the home side – sporting a pink change-kit for charity – that powered through to the 43-14 victory.

Even down to 13 men at one point, with both substitutes being sent to the sin-bin, Sedgley muscled through to victory.

The Tigers take to the road again next weekend with a trip to Leicester Lions.
