On April 12th 2014 the rugby world focussed on five brothers from Lancashire making their full international debuts for Slovenia.
We knew that history was to be made but that wasn’t the reason that TRU sent a camera - all five boys were well known to TRU. One of the boys, Max, was an intern with the website.
Max and his brothers, Jack, Archie, George and Frankie played their first international against Bulgaria in Slovenia’s capital, Ljubliana.
The team ran out winners and Max scored a hat-trick of tries on debut. The brothers' relatives travelled from all over Slovenia to support them and the country’s President made an appearance to meet the Skofic brothers.
Fast forward to October and Max is now Creative Director for TalkingRugbyUnion and this weekend he will make his second appearance for Slovenia who will be playing Serbia in a very local derby.
Max has travelled to Ljubliana with his brothers to train with the squad and the team will be announced later today.
