Leicester Tigers have announced Strength and Conditioning Lead Matt Parr will be leaving the Gallagher Premiership in the new year.

Parr joined the Strength & Conditioning team at Leicester Tigers during the 2015/16 campaign following his retirement. He began in the role of Senior Strength & Conditioning Coach in June 2016 before being promoted to Strength & Conditioning Lead ahead of the 2020/21 season.

He will now join rugby league club Catalans Dragons as Head of Performance.

“I am very excited to join the Catalans Dragons, this is a great opportunity to join a great club and build on the successes of last season."

"I have been fortunate enough to have been a part of Leicester Tigers staff for six and a half years and have loved my time here, through thick and thin, and have gained so much from this experience.

"I am grateful to everybody I have had the chance to work with at Tigers and thank everybody for the part they have played in my journey.

"I will be giving everything in my role until I leave and look forward to finishing my time at Tigers strongly."

Leicester Tigers hold the top place in the table with eight wins from as many games and will face Harlequins in the next round on 5th December.
