The Stormers have announced that Springbok Sevens star Angelo Davids has signed a two-year contract with Western Province Professional Rugby.

Having made his debut for Stormers and Western Province in 2020, Davids was part of the sevens format in 2021 but now has returned back to compete in the United Rugby Championship.

The 22-year-old is delighted to return back to Stormers and Western Province after featuring in the Sevens format last year.

“After working with the players and the coaches here in 2020, I know that this is the right place to grow my abilities in the 15-man game," he said the club's official website.

“I am now fully fit and ready to give it a full crack. I look forward to contributing in any way possible for the DHL Stormers and DHL Western Province".

Stormers Head Coach John Dobson is delighted with Davids returning back to the club.

“We know that Angelo has the kind of x-factor that we need out wide, we saw just what he is capable of in 2020.

“Angelo’s skillset fits in perfectly with the type of rugby we want to play, so we can’t wait to see him in a DHL Stormers jersey again,” he said.
