Scorecard

A clinical display from South Africa at Ellis Park saw them complete a 35-12 win over France on Saturday as they wrapped up the series 3-0.

Jesse Kriel crossed over in the sixth minute for the Springboks with fly-half Elton Jantjies scoring a penalty and a conversion on either side to make it 10-0 in favour of the hosts.

France got off the mark with a double penalty from Jules Plisson but it was soon negated by Jantjies as South Africa maintained their 10 point lead. A third penalty from Plisson at the stroke of half time reduced the gap between the teams to seven points at the end of the first half.

Eben Etzebeth helped South Africa stretch their lead to 12 points when he crossed over in the 42nd minute but Plisson, the only point scorer for the visitor responded with his fourth penalty to bring down the difference to nine points.

Any chance of a France comeback was put to rest as Malcolm Marx and Rudy Paige strolled past the post for Springboks in the final quarter as they completed a resounding 23 point victory to make it 3-0 in the series.
