Wales wing Alex Cuthbert will miss the deciding Test against South Africa to be played in Cape Town on Saturday due to a shoulder injury.

The 32-year-old sustained the blow during the second Test in Bloemfontein where he was replaced in the 17th minute by Josh Adams.

The news was confirmed by a statement from the Welsh Rugby Union.

“Alex Cuthbert has been ruled out of the remainder of Wales’ Test series in South Africa following the shoulder injury he sustained during the second Test in Bloemfontein,” the Welsh Rugby Union said.

“No replacement will be called up.”

Skipper Dan Biggar also sustained a shoulder problem during the game and was replaced at half time while Dillon Lewis suffered an arm injury and was replaced in the 66th minute.

South Africa started the series with a 32-29 win but Wayne Pivac's men bounced back in the second game with a 13-12 margin to level the series 1-1.
