The second round Gallagher Premiership game between Northampton Saints and London Irish to be played at cinch Stadium at Franklin's Gardens has been postponed to 17th September.

The fixture was initially scheduled to be played on Friday, 16th September but following the postponement of Northampton's opening fixture against Sale Sharks from 9th to 11th September following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II the decision was taken.

"This is to avoid a short turnaround between the two matches for the men in Black, Green and Gold – the Club would like to thank London Irish and Premiership Rugby for their swift co-operation," read a statement from Northampton Saints.

"The 2pm kick-off time avoids a direct clash with Northampton Town FC, who also play a home fixture on Saturday 17 September at Sixfields."
