Scarlets front row trio Peter Edwards, Wyn Jones and Dylan Evans have agreed new contracts with the Welsh region.

Tighthead prop Edwards, 35, will spend his sixth season in west Wales in 2016-17 after rejoining from London Welsh, while 24-year-old Jones is a home-grown product who made his debut in 2013.

Evans, 27, joined the Scarlets in 2015 having previously played for Newcastle and NSW Country in his native Australia.

The Welsh-qualified loose head prop has signed a new deal that will keep him at the Scarlets until June 2018.

"Pete has been a stalwart in the last few seasons offering much needed experience and support to the emerging international talents of Samson (Lee) and the likes," Scarlets general manager Jon Daniels told the region's official website.

"Retaining players of Pete's experience is important as we look to continue the development of young props at the region.

"Both Wyn and Dylan have worked exceptionally hard and are looking to challenge for regular game time in the regional shirt."
