Saracens have announced the signing of back-rower Tom Ellis on a short-term loan deal.

Ellis made his professional rugby debut with Bath Rugby in 2014 and has made over 100 appearances for the Gallagher Premiership club.

He will now provide back up to the five-time Premiership champions with the likes of Maro Itoje, Nick Isiekwe, Andy Christie and Ben Earl leaving for international duty.

"Tom has an opportunity to experience a new club and to earn more game time," Bath head of rugby Johann van Graan said.

"We wish him well during that period and look forward to welcoming him back in the next six weeks."

Saracens are positioned at the top of the Gallagher Premiership table with 11 wins from 12 matches.
