Saracens have announced the signing of fly-half Louie Johnson from Newcastle Falcons ahead of the 2024/25 season.

The 20-year-old graduated from Newcastle Academy and was promoted to the senior squad ahead of the 2021/22 season. He made his Newcastle debut in the Premiership Rugby Cup against Northampton Saints in 2022 and has made 16 appearances for them scoring a solitary try.

He also had represented England Under 20 side in the World Championship last year.

“I’m incredibly excited and grateful to be joining such a prestigious club," he told the club's official website.

"Saracens is full of world class players and coaches and I can’t wait to learn from them.”

Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall is delighted with the news of signing Johnson on a long-term contract.

“Louie has shown considerable promise so early in his career and we were very impressed with the maturity with which he handled his exposure to both Premiership and European competition.

"We are confident that we can help him fulfil his clear potential in the years to come.”

Saracens are positioned third in the Gallagher Premiership table with eight wins from 14 matches.
