Saracens forward Theo McFarland is set to miss the remainder of the ongoing 2022/23 season following an anterior cruciate ligament.

The 27-year-old sustained the injury during the training session prior to the 13th round Gallagher Premiership clash against London Irish.

"Everyone knows, not how difficult it is to come back from an ACL, but how painstaking the process is," said McCall.

"It's a shame because Theo made a lot of progress very quickly.

"But we have a great medical team and he'll come back well and he'll come back strongly. When he does, he'll get better and better.

"Now we just feel sad for him."

Meanwhile, McCall is also expecting Jamie George, who missed the game against London Irish with a heel injury and Maro Itoje, who is recovering from a concussion to be available for the upcoming clash against Exeter Chiefs on Saturday.

Saracens are currently at the top of the Gallagher Premiership table with nine wins from 10 matches.
