Jamie George led Saracens' resurgence in the second half with a double try as the reigning champions handed Wasps their first defeat in the season with a 30-14 triumph at Allianz Park on Sunday.

The game was evenly poised at half time with Saracens managing a slender lead of five points but replacement George changed the complexion of the game with his two tries which came in a span of six minutes to secure the bonus-point victory.

Mako Vunipola gave an early advantage of with his third minute try but fly-half Alex Lozowski failed to add the conversion. It took Wasps 27 minutes to score their first point when fly-half Jimmy Gopperth kicked a successful penalty but it was soon negated by his counterpart Lozowski.

Wing Josh Bassett helped Wasps level scores with a 36th minute try but Mike Ellery ensured Saracens ended the first half with a scoreline of 13-8 with his final minute touchdown

Lozowski and Gopperth exchanged penalties in the second half and by the 66th minute, Wasps were trailing Saracens by just two points.

This is when England hooker George took control and went over from close range to score his first try in the game which came in the 68th minute and Lozowski's conversion took Saracens to 23-14.

Things went from bad to worse for Dai Young's men as Bassett was sin-binned in the 73rd minute which was capitalised by George as he scored his second try a minute later to ensure Saracens reached the top of the table with the victory.

Widely regarded as the most competitive rugby union league in the world...it can only be the Gallagher Premiership.
