Sale Sharks prop Nic Schonert has been suspended for three games following his red card incident in the recently concluded Gallagher Premiership game against Bath Rugby.

The 31-year-old was sent-off in the 6th minute during last weekend's clash for a dangerous tackle on Bath lock Dave Attwood leaving the Sharks with 14 players for the remainder of the match.

Despite his absence, Sale went on to win the encounter 37-20 riding on tries from Tom O'Flaherty, Akker van der Merwe, Thomas Curry and Jono Ross.

Schonert faced an independent disciplinary hearing chaired by Matthew O’Grady along with Martyn Wood and Rob Vickerman and accepted the charge which is a breach of World Rugby Law 9.13 that deals with dangerous tackles.

He will now miss Sale's Premiership Cup games against Leicester and Newcastle along with the Premiership home game against Exeter Chiefs.
