On April 20th, Rugby Expo took place at the home of Wasps, the Ricoh Arena. The Expo featured some of rugby’s established companies, as well as those trying to make their name in the sport.

There were several panels that also took place during the day one of which was titled ‘Champagne content on a bitter budget’. This featured representatives from Bath Rugby, Rugby League’s Warrington Wolves, Facebook and LiveWire Sports.

The panel focussed on professional rugby clubs and how they use digital content across different social media platforms whilst having a limited budget.

Clubs also sent representatives from varying levels of the game. The likes of Saracens were represented from the Premiership while clubs from divisions such as Midlands 4 West (North)’s Eccleshall RUFC were also in attendance.

The Expo wasn’t just catering for the elite. Panels discussing how the game would grow included Jamie Fuller, Chairman of SKINS, who discussed how rugby is experiencing it’s biggest growth in years. Former England international Catherine Spencer was also present, and discussed how to get more women playing the game.

Oddballs Apparel were also exhibiting, along with Opro, Catapult Sports, the Rugby Visitor Centre & World Rugby Hall of Fame.

As media partners, it was great to be at Rugby Expo once again and we are looking forward to next year.
