Australia international and Queensland Reds fly-half James O'Connor has won the Super Rugby AU MVP award following his consistent performances in the ongoing season.

O'Connor, who has played 55 Tests for the Wallabies claimed 30 per cent of the total 8,000 fan votes with his Reds team mates Taniela Tupou and Hunter Paisami coming at second and third respectively.

The 30-year-old took in charge of the Reds with regular skipper Liam Wright out with injury and guided them to the final after winning seven out of the eight games.

O'Connor also holds the joint top position in the most points scored in the regular season with 102 along with Melbourne Rebels' Matt To'omua.

Reds will be facing Brumbies in the final of this year's edition at Suncorp Stadium on 8th May.
