Pitchside with Karen Ashcroft

Rugby World Cup has gripped the country and it has been a privilege to cover the competition. Our reporters and photographers have been from Exeter to Newcastle and from Cardiff to Twickenham. The fans have been out in force and the players have embraced the fans and their friends and family within the crowd.

Here’s some photographs from Newcastle’s St.James’ Park when the All Blacks met Tonga. A fabulous stadium that was full with rugby union fans. The atmosphere was electric. Whatever age the tournament has provided a once in a lifetime experience.
