Northampton Saints have announced the signing of wing Gabriel Hamer-Webb on a short-term contract.

A former England Under 20 international, Hamer-Webb will be providing cover for the injured players and those on international duty for the Saints.

The club are already with the injured trio in James Ramm, Tom Seabrook and George Hendy while George Furbank and Tommy Freeman are set to join England's squad ahead of the Six Nations tournament.

A product of Bath Academy, the 23-year-old made his senior debut for Bath in 2019 and has featured in 32 games for the club scoring four tries.

Since departing Bath at the end of last season, he spent three months representing Southland Stags in the New Zealand Provincial Championship (eight appearances, two tries), before joining Cardiff Rugby in November and scoring twice in four matches across the United Rugby Championship and Investec Champions Cup competitions.

Bath are positioned third in the Gallagher Premiership table with seven wins from 11 matches.
