England coach Eddie Jones has called-up uncapped Northampton lock David Ribbans in the Six Nations squad ahead of the fourth round clash against France.

The 25-year-old replaces Courtney Lawes in the squad after the latter has been ruled out for 12 weeks as he is set to undergo surgery on a pectoral injury.

"Northampton Saints can confirm that, following consultation between the club's medical staff and a specialist, Courtney Lawes will undergo surgery on the pectoral injury he sustained in England training last week," Saints said in a statement.

"The 32-year-old lock will require a rehabilitation period of approximately 12 weeks."

Meanwhile, South Africa born Ribbans has been with Northampton Saints since 2017 and has made 50 Premiership Rugby appearances for them scoring 10 tries.

England currently are at fourth place in the Six Nations table with a solitary win from three games and will face France next on 13th March at Twickenham Stadium.
