New Zealand have been dealt with injury blows ahead of their end-of-the-year series that kicks-off next weekend with a clash against Japan in Tokyo.

Winger Will Jordan and veteran lock Sam Whitelock are suffering from inner ear issues and will remain at home until they are cleared of the issues.

“We’ve decided to leave them both at home until they are really clear,” said New Zealand head coach Ian Foster told reporters at Auckland airport.

“Will is probably a little bit worse … we’ll see if there’s any value in bringing him over.”

Apart from the duo, Barrett brothers, Scott, Beauden and Jordie have also delayed their trip to Japan as they have lost their grandmother.

Scrum-half Folau Fakatava has has ruptured his ACL graft and is set to be on the sidelines for a lengthy period.

Meanwhile, Foster has added Brad Weber, Damian McKenzie and Patrick Tuipulotu have been added to the squad as a cover.

Following the game against Japan on 29th October, New Zealand will be facing Wales, Scotland and England on 5th, 13th and 19th November respectively in their Northern tour.
