New Zealand head coach Ian Foster has retained his starting line up for the upcoming clash against Argentina to be played in Hamilton on Saturday.

His decision follows despite the All Blacks suffered their first-ever home defeat against the Pumas last weekend in Christchurch with a 18-25 margin.

There are four changes on the bench though with hooker Codie Taylor dropped after he failed to create an impact when coming off the bench in the second half replacing Samisoni Taukei'aho. Dane Coles comes in at his place.

Experienced duo of Brodie Retallick and Beauden Barrett are returning from injuries to join the replacements with Tupou Vaa’i and Stephen Perofeta making way for them.

The final change sees Dalton Papali’i drafted into the matchday squad at the expense of Akira Ioane.

New Zealand are positioned third in the Rugby Championship table with a solitary win from three games.

New Zealand XV: Jordie Barrett, Will Jordan, Rieko Ioane, David Havili, Caleb Clarke, Richie Mo'unga, Aaron Smith, Ardie Savea, Sam Cane (c), Shannon Frizell, Scott Barrett, Sam Whitelock, Tyrel Lomax, Samisoni Taukei'aho, Ethan de Groot.

Reserves: Dane Coles, George Bower, Fletcher Newell, Brodie Retallick, Dalton Papali'i, Finlay Christie, Beauden Barrett, Quinn Tupaea.
