Gloucester 20-38 Leicester, Kingsholm

Oliver Hassell-Collins scored a double as Leicester Tigers went on to defeat Gloucester 38-20 in the latest round of he Gallagher Premiership at Kingsholm on Saturday.

The win meant Leicester have claimed the Slater Cup as they moved to the seventh place in the table with 15 points while Gloucester are at ninth after losing their fifth game.

Leicester Tigers forced an early error as Gloucester conceded a penalty goal in the 2nd minute which Handre Pollard kicked to perfection and George Barton had a chance to level the scores when Tigers conceded a penalty for not rolling away but his kick drifted wide.

The Gloucester fly-half redeemed himself with his first successful kick of the evening in the 16th minute as the scores were levelled. Barton, who had a tough outing missed two more penalty kicks before trading penalty kicks with Pollard as the scores remained levelled 6-6 in the first half hour of the game.

With Pollard kicking another three-pointer from the tee, Leicester extended their lead following which Ollie Hassell-Collins dived in the corner evading a tackle from Santiago Carreras as they completed the opening half with a 6-14 scoreline at the end of the opening half.

The start of the second half saw George McGuigan diving over at the back of a rumbling maul and Barton improved it to make it a one-point game. Leicester were down to 14 players temporarily with Ollie Chessum sin-binned for making contact with Freddie Clarke's face in the 50th minute.

The 52nd minute saw Barton also yellow carded for a head-on-head contact with Pollard and shortly Julian Montoya crossed over from their own driving maul and Gloucester's Jack Clement was yellow carded for an offside. With the numerical advantage on their side, Leicester extended their lead further with Hassell-Collins completing his second of the day and Pollard improved it to make it 13-28.

With 14 minutes left in the game, Jamal Ford-Robinson burrowed from close range but Solomone Kata's try in the closing stage ensured the Tigers completed a bonus point victory to revive their campaign.
