Bath Rugby 17-10 Gloucester, The Recreation Ground

Tom de Glanville scored a double as Bath Rugby edged out Gloucester 17-10 in the latest round of the Gallagher Premiership at The Recreation Ground on Sunday.

This is seventh win for Bath in 11 games as they move to the third place in the table while Gloucester now have suffered their ninth consecutive Premiership defeat as they slip to the ninth position.

The visitors opened the account in the 6th minute as Zach Mercer sent a perfect pass for Ruan Ackermann to dive from close range and Adam Hastings kicked the conversion to make it 0-7.

Bath responded back around the half hour mark as Will Muir and Tom de Glanville combined to send the latter over the line but this time Finn Russell missed out on the conversion.

Gloucester managed to a win a penalty at breakdown at the stroke of half time as Hastings landed a three-pointer ensuring the Cherry and Whites finished the opening half with a 5-10 lead.

Gloucester had a slip up early in the second half as Caolan Englefield fumbled the ball allowing Muir to collect his own kick to crossover and Russell kicked the extras to make it 12-10.

The end of the third quarter saw Gloucester's Santiago Carreras sin-binned for a deliberate knock on and Bath made use of the numerical advantage with Joe Cokanasiga making an interception for de Glanville to complete his second but the conversion drifted wide making it 17-10.

Gloucester had a chance to level the scores as they pressed forward but Bath's firm defence meant they succumbed to a seven point defeat.
