Harlequins 47-19 Ulster, Pool 2, Twickenham Stoop

Ulster have missed out on the qualification to the round of 16 in the ongoing Investec Champions Cup as they were defeated by Harlequins 47-19 at Twickenham Stoop on Saturday.

The Quins have 15 points in four games that saw them registering three victories while Ulster finished with a solitary victory from four games.

The home side opened their account in the 4th minute as Andre Esterhuizen took advantage of a line out to allow Nick David go over the line and Marcus Smith kicked the conversion to take them to a 7-0 lead but they suffered a setback in the 7th minute when the try-scorer David was sin-binned for deliberately knocking on Stuart McCloskey's attempted pass.

With the numerical advantage on their side, Ulster hit back as David McCann finishing in the corner and John Cooney landed the conversion to level the scores but the Quins dominated the remainder of the opening half with back to back tries from Louis Lynagh.

First Lynagh powered his way through collecting his own kick in the 24th minute and his second came eight minutes later when he capitalised on a mistake from Ulster. Smith kicked both the extras as Harlequins completed the opening half with a 21-7 lead.

The bonus point for the hosts came early in the second half as scrum-half Danny Care spotted the gap in Ulster's defence to touchdown and further tries from Esterhuizen and David to extend their lead to 40-7 by the 66th minute. As the game entered the final stage Will Evans scored on either side of tries from Stuart McCloskey and Jacob Stockdale as Harlequins went on to complete a convincing victory.
