Bath Rugby 19-18 Leicester Tigers, The Recreation Ground

Will Butt scored a last-gasp try as Bath Rugby came from behind to edge out Leicester Tigers 19-18 in the latest round of the Gallagher Premiership at The Recreation Ground on Friday.

This is third win for Bath from eight matches as they climb to the seventh place in the table while Leicester are at sixth position.

Orlando Bailey started the proceedings with an early second minute penalty goal to start the proceedings for Bath but Leicester responded back almost immediately with Nemani Nadolo crashing over after he breached the defence of the home side with speed and strength.

Freddie Burns kicked the conversion and also followed with a three-pointer in the 22nd minute to take the visitors to a 3-10 lead.

Around the half hour mark, the home side narrowed down the gap with Ted Hill evading a tackle to dive over for his second try in as many games but Bailey's conversion went wide leaving the home side trailing by two points.

Just as the break was approaching, Leicester stretched their lead further as James Cronin touched down at the back of a driving maul but Burns' missed conversion meant they were 8-15 front at the end of the opening half.

The second half saw both the teams start slowly with the first points coming in the 56th minute when Bailey kicked a penalty goal to bring down the gap to four points after Leicester infringed at scrum. The gap between the sides remained at four points after Burns and Bailey exchanged penalties.

Anthony Watson made a remarkable turn and interception to prevent Butt going over the line but the Bath winger ensured he steered his team through with a sensational touchdown in the closing stage. Bailey missed out on the conversion but that did not stop Bath from winning the game by one point.
