South Africa flanker Marco van Staden will miss the second round of the Rugby Championship clash against Argentina in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.

The 6ft flanker came off the bench in the opening Test against the Pumas and was instrumental in setting up the try from Jaden Hendrikse in the closing stages of the game which the Springboks went on to win 32-12.

South Africa are already without Pieter-Steph du Toit, Duane Vermeulen and Rynhardt Elstadt, who are recovering from their respective injuries.

Faf de Klerk and Herschel Jantjies continue to remain doubtful for the weekend's encounter while Jean-Luc du Preez, who was a late addition to the squad is recovering from a knee injury.

Following the game against Argentina at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, South Africa are scheduled to take on the Wallabies on 12th and 18th September in Sydney and Brisbane respectively and will lock horns with the All Blacks on 25th September and 2nd October in Dunedin and Auckland respectively.

However, according to reports it is understood that the matches in New Zealand may be shifted to Australia considering the Covid restrictions in place in the country.
