Wing Jack Nowell feels a fast start is necessary for England when they take on Australia in second Test in Melbourne on Saturday as coach Eddie Jones’ men are in search of a historic series win.

Nowell will make a return to starting XV after replacing Marland Yarde whereas George Ford will don the number ten shirt as Owen Farrell shifts to inside centre in place of Luther Burrell.

Nowell, who came off the bench in Brisbane during England's 28-39 triumph, scored a crucial try on the penultimate minute of the game to help his side seal the game.

The 23-year-old believes that England have failed to make a proper start in the first Test, however, they are prepared to rectify the mistake on Saturday.

"We said all the way through the Six Nations that we need to start fast, get forward, and put our game on them quickest," Nowell said.

"Nothing has changed. Maybe we were a bit slow last week to do that, but this week is a different Test and a totally different game.

"We've put that all to the back of our minds now and this is a fresh start for us."

Israel Folau who is known for his impressive runs and stunning line breaks, will be a crucial factor on Saturday night according to Nowell. The Wallabies fullback proved too hot to handle for the visitors' front rowers as he sneaked past and managed to score a try on 15th minute of the Brisbane Test.

Nowell believes the players might have to watch each other’s back and come together as a team to stop Folau from scoring in Melbourne.

"We know Folau is always going to be a dangerous runner, and he showed that last week," he added.

"But it's more of a team thing. He broke through the line a few times when the front rowers may have been left by themselves.

"He's very good at isolating those boys and picking the right spaces so it is very important for the team to look after each other when playing against him. But I'll just attack it like I do any other game. He's a big man so the important thing is just to go low at him.

"He's very physical and a guy that many players look up to, but now we're out here and playing against him you have to put that to the back of your mind a bit and focus on us. We have to treat him just like any other player."
