Scorecard

England continued their winning momentum in the U20 Championship tournament as they secured a 34-20 bonus point victory against Wales at Avchala Stadium on Sunday.

It was fly-half Arwel Robson, who got Wales off the mark with a sixth minute penalty but a try each from Justin Clegg and Gabriel Ibitoye followed by double conversions from Max Malins as the defending champions claimed a 11 point lead.

Ibitoye took just 15 more minutes to score his second try with the fly-half adding a conversion and a penalty to stretch the lead to 21 points. Despite, suffering a setback through a sin-bin to captain Will Jones, prop Kieron Assiratti crossed over for Wales as they ended the first half with a 14 point deficit.

Wales had some momentum at the start of the second half after England's Ollie Dawe was yellow-carded, that also resulted in a penalty try to bring down the gap to nine points. However, Alex Mitchell ensured there was no fairy-tale finish for Wales with his side's fourth try that came in the 66th minute and Malins' conversion and drop goal took them to 34 points.

Joe Goodchild's final try for Wales helped them narrow down the losing difference to 14 points and they are positioned third in Pool A after losing both the games.
