The Hurricanes put up a commanding performance to bag a 35-10 bonus point win against the Crusaders to take provisional lead in the New Zealand conference on Saturday.

The Wellington side ran five tries as opposed to just one scored by the Crusaders to keep their hopes alive of hosting a Super Rugby 2016 quarter-final.

Centre Jason Woodward (11), scrum-half TJ Perenara (39), centre Willis Halaholo (55), replacement Callum Gibbins (70) and fly-half Beauden Barrett (80) crossed over for try for the visitors.

Barrett also managed to successfully convert all five tries to take his overall game tally to 10 points.

Centre Ryan Crotty (28) was the lone try scorer for the Crusaders, while fly-half Richie Mo'unga managed to convert the try in addition to scoring a penalty on the 23rd minute.

The Chiefs still have a chance to secure the home quarter-final spot by displacing Hurricanes if they manage to win their game against the Highlanders.
