Gloucester Rugby have announced the signing of tighthead prop Jack Stanley from Edinburgh with immediate effect.

The 23-year-old is a product of Exeter Chiefs Academy and went on to join Edinburgh ahead of the 2018/19 season.

Gloucester director of rugby David Humphreys is delighted to boost his front-row options with the addition of Stanley.

“It’s been well documented that we’ve had some injuries in the front row this season, especially at tight head, with Ruan Dreyer and Jamal Ford-Robinson both ruled out at times," said Humphreys.

“As a young English tighthead, Jack will give us some strength in depth at prop for the rest of this season but more importantly, for the long-term future.

“He’s still a very young player who has worked with Peter Walton in the past, and we’re all looking forward to seeing Jack fulfil his potential at Gloucester Rugby.”

Gloucester are at the ninth place in the Gallagher Premiership with four wins from 12 games and will face Wasps at Ricoh Arena on 7th March next.
