Gloucester appoint Alex Brown as Chief Executive Officer

Gloucester Rugby have announced the appointment of Alex Brown as Chief Executive Officer.

Brown, who has been acting as an interim CEO has made 235 appearances for the Cherry & Whites before retiring as a player in 2013. He also had represented England on three occasions.

He has also spent 10 years as part of their off-field management and was also their Chief Operating Officer.

“Firstly, I want to thank Martin and the Board for placing their trust in me, and to all the Gloucester supporters for their kind words and well wishes since my interim appointment," said Brown to the club's official website.

“It really is an honour to have been asked to lead Gloucester Rugby; it has been a huge part of my life for over 20 years, and I am confident that with a brilliant team around me, on and off the field, we can realise the potential of this great Club.

"I am looking forward to continuing the excellent progress we have made over the past few months and to a successful season ahead."

The club in a statement also confirmed Matt Mulcahy will assume the role of Director of Finance while Head of Marketing Nicol McClelland is promoted to Director of Marketing and Communications 18-months after joining from Team GB.
