French club Montpellier has confirmed the signing of All Blacks wing George Bridge on a three-year deal until 2025.

The Top 14 club revealed that Bridge has been signed as an 'additional player' and will be part of the ongoing season and will follow the likes of his All Blacks team-mate Karl Tu’inukuafe.

Bridge came through the academy of Canterbury and made his provincial debut with them in 2016. Prior to that he was Canterbury’s Under-19 player of the year in 2014 and represented New Zealand Under 20 side in 2015.

He made his Super Rugby debut for Crusaders in 2017 and has 67 appearances for them. Finished as the top try scorer in the 2018 Super Rugby season, Bridge made his All Blacks debut later in that year against Japan.

Bridge was also part of their 2019 Rugby World Cup campaign and started in four Tests in the showpiece event.

Crusaders head coach Scott Robertson wished Bridge good luck on his stint in France.

“George is a man and player who epitomises what it is to be a Crusader,” Robertson said.

“He’s a hard worker, he’s tough, and he’s a winner. Bridgey is such a good honest man and we can all call him a great mate.

“All the best to you and Evie on your sojourn.”

Montpellier are currently at fourth place in the Top 14 table with three wins from six matches.
